Products

Software we make and look after.

Six products, six jobs. They share a studio and keep their own names. Daily Word is the one you can use today.

Language learning

Daily Word

One word. Every day.

Available

Daily Word is a family of quiet language apps. One word arrives each morning. Korean, Dutch, Mandarin and Japanese each have their own app, under the names Daily Korean Word, Daily Dutch Word, Daily Chinese Word and Daily Japanese Word. The product site describes the same morning habit for all four: the lock screen keeps the word, and the app holds the rest.

  • A new word each morning, including on the lock screen.
  • Meaning, spoken pronunciation and an example sentence in the app.
  • A home-screen widget, a share card and an optional quiz you can skip.
  • Free, with no subscription and no advertising.
  • No account and no analytics. Word lists stay on the device.

Each language has its own App Store listing. The Android buttons on dailyword.it open a Play Store search, so those are not listed here as confirmed apps. The Chinese app teaches Mandarin, which is also the name used on the product site.

Language learning

Hangul Snap

Get comfortable with Hangul, one step at a time.

Public site

Hangul Snap is for reading and recognising Hangul. It sits beside Daily Korean Word: one product for the writing system, the other for a daily word. They stay separate so each can stay small. Screens, platforms and lessons are published on the Hangul Snap site rather than repeated here.

Local information

Boyoung

Ask people nearby what's happening before you go.

Early stage

Boyoung is an early private beta, and there is no public download. It is a location-based app for finding out what a place is like before you go, by asking people who are nearby. The first focus is Seoul, including Seongsu. Questions it is meant for include how long the queue is, whether a café is crowded and whether the trip is worth it now.

Designed to

  • Search for a place.
  • Find people nearby who are available.
  • Send a question to up to five people.
  • Keep a separate private conversation with each person.
  • Rate an answer after the conversation.
  • Pause your own availability.
  • Use the app in English or Korean.
  • Hide exact locations from other users.

Learning

You Can Learn

You can learn it.

Public site

You Can Learn is a collection of short, self-directed learning resources. Lessons stay small, explanations stay plain, and nothing asks for an account or a subscription. You set the pace. Korean, programming and other practical skills are the subjects in view. Published material is on youcanlearn.it.

  • Small lessons with a plain explanation.
  • Little friction between the person and the material.
  • No account and no subscription.
  • You set the pace.

Housing

Konbi

Read the documents before you sign.

Early stage

Konbi is early, and there is no public service. It is meant to read one Seoul rental a foreign renter is considering, explain what the public documents show in their language, and draft the Korean questions for the licensed agent. A person reviews the report before it is sent. Konbi does not negotiate, sign a lease or give legal advice.

Designed to

  • Read one flat the renter is considering.
  • Check the public documents for that address.
  • Explain what they show, in the renter's language.
  • Draft the Korean questions for the licensed agent.
  • Have a person review the report before it is sent.
  • Leave negotiating, signing and legal advice out.

Events

KoreaStay

Find people going to the same event.

Early stage

KoreaStay is early. It is a coordination service for people heading to the same event, so they can share accommodation or meet before it starts. The conversation is meant to happen in Telegram, without a new app and without KoreaStay taking the booking. A person reviews introductions at the start. There are no events to join yet.

Designed to

  • Start from an event someone is already going to.
  • Match people whose dates and plans overlap.
  • Offer a shared stay, a meetup, or both.
  • Hold the conversation in Telegram.
  • Have a person review the first introductions.
  • Leave booking and vetting with the people themselves.
